Public Housing Program

OHA owns and operates a total of 359 proprieties, located at Camelot Towers – 827 Albia Road, Southoak Towers – 102 West Finley Avenue, Westgate Towers – 910 West Second, and scattered family sites which are located throughout the community and include 2 and 3 bedroom units. Rents are based on 30% of the gross annual income.

Our spacious 2 Bedroom Duplex style family scattered site offer:

*A security deposit is required on the day you move in

*An annual fee of $120.00 is charged for the electricity to operate the air conditioner and deep freezers. OHA does not provide air conditioners and deep freezers.
*Tenants have the choice to purchase basic expanded cable TV service from $30 per month, which would be charged to your rental account.
*Each rental unit has a deadbolt lock
*All utilities including gas, water, electric and trash removal are paid by OHA. Refrigerators, electric ranges and draperies are furnished. Coin operated automatic washers and dryer are located in each building. Garbage and trash are disposed in the compactors with a chute located on each floor.
*Free bus service to Hy-Vee stores & Wal-Mart during the week for tenants by the City Transit.

Income Limits effective 5/15/2023

Tenant rent is based on all household annual income. Income Limits per household size:

1 person = $46,800                    4 person = $66,800

2 person = $53,450                   5 person = $72.150

3 person = $60,150                   6 person = $77,500

The pet deposit for dogs/cats is $160.00 and there is a non-refundable pet fee of $200.00 The deposit for a sing bird or fish is $50.00. This is separate from your initial security deposit. If you are interested in having a pet in your apartment let us know so that we can give you information of the requirements to have a pet on OHA property. You are NOT allowed to have any animals in your unit without prior approval from the Public Housing Project Manager.
